Little Bit Of This, Little Bit Of That...

Where to begin, lol. There have been a lot of things happening the past few months, so I thought as I drank my evening tea I'd share some of those things with you all :) First things first, I am SOOOOOOOOOOOO over the moon with excitement about my newest venture. I have just signed a lease for a small private studio space. It isn't the fanciest diggs, but it's ABSOLUTELY perfect and I love it soooooooo much. I move in June 1st. Not only will it offer a place for everybody to come and have their custom portrait sessions, it offers wonderful areas all out my front door. We have some unused railway tracks, old buildings, fences, some green grass and trees, ugh, it's PERFECT!!! Now this is not to say that I won't be offering on-location services as well, this just now gives you the option to come to the studio :)
I have a co-op student who will be with me for the next six weeks. She's a doll and is an aspiring photographer. She's got some great stuff. You will more than likely see Tanya with me if you have something booked within the next six weeks.
Lastly(I think, lol) our family computer has crashed and finally gone to hard drive heaven. This doesn't affect very many of you. I think maybe two or three, and I've already spoken with one of you today. I was using the email address(please bare with me, I'm sure I will be explaining this wrong as I am so not computer savvy)that was attached to that computer (hertlein@sympatico.ca). This was the email account I was using while I was having troubles with the one from my website. So along with the computer went access to any emails. I can't retrieve any new emails sent because the computer is gone and we have yet to figure out how to transfer that email account to another computer. IF you have sent an email to HERTLEIN@SYMPATICO.CA(which I believe only a few of you did when I was having difficulties, and I haven't had any of you(clients) use that email account in months)but if you have emailed me in the last two weeks or so and you haven't heard back from me(sorry Jennifer, lol) give me a ring or you can email me through my site or by epidome@hotmail.com.
Actually one more thing :p I have changed a few things in regards to ordering and proofing times. I simply just can't keep up. With my kiddies and my other jobs, it's just next to impossible for me to have your proofs ready BEFORE 2 weeks. So as of the last month or so, I have switched to 2-3 week proof time and then 1-2 week delivery. I know you may think that this is a terribly long wait, especially when you can go to a certain grocery store and have your prints the next day. But I promise you, I edit every single portrait by hand. I don't click a button and it turns B&W, my work is completely custom. Every portrait is different because no picture is the same. I want you to know that I take great pride in helping you to create personal Heirlooms and I don't want to rush that. If you need a rush, please don't hesitate to ask. Most times they are done before the two week period, but I just don't want to tell you 7 days and then it turns into 10.
I think that's it! Whew, you are all rockstars if you've made it this far, lol!!!

It wouldn't be a post without a pic, so here are a few pictures that I took of my DD from my new found gem of a location :)

Ahhh Missy such beautiful work.

About Me

London, Ontario, Canada
I have loved photography for a long time, but it really kicked into gear with the birth of my first child. I was seeing first hand how quickly she was reaching those oh-so precious milestones. I wanted to capture those moments and freeze them in time. I was able to accomplish this with my camera. With the birth of each of my children it occurred to me more and more that there were very few options for professional portraits that allowed my childrens personalities to shine. Of course there were the traditional chain portrait studios, but that wasn't my family or our style. This began my journey from being a mom with a camera to a photographer. Whether it's the essence of your growing belly, the innocence of your newborn or the curiosity of your child, I look foward to helping you create portraits that reflect you and your family's style.
